In the wake of the natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, heavy rainfalls, flash floods, etc) we have learned some great lessons... NOW MORE THAN EVER IS THE  TIME TO ADOPT! Check out your local shelters, rescue organizations and veterinarian clinics.  There are many animals available for adoption on-line ADOPT LESSON LEARNED: ALWAYS SPECIFY ON YOUR DONATION CHECKS: When making a donation to any charity, rescue effort, etc learn from the Katrina disaster relief efforts.   Make a note in the memo line of your checks where you expect your money to be applied - ie. "Hurricane Katrina Disaster", "Disaster Relief" "Specific animal's operation", etc.  If you do not your donation may stay be processed for something entirely not in your intentions.  image source: National Geographic:
