 Ban use of animal testing

BOYCOTT
MADE IN CHINA PRODUCTS

Wheat Gluten and Corn Gluten and  Rice Protein Concentrate tainted with poison.  It was imported from China and traveled through various places before its final destination.  The poison is melamine.  Melamine added to boost the profit margin, cheat health.

It
is now very clear that our regulations are not tight enough.   Why are we inspecting only 1.3% of imports?

Why are we relying so heavily on  imported food ?  How safe is any food from foreign countries if it  does not have to abide by our FDA regulations or we can't enforce them?

Why don't we inspect all of it?  Do we inspect the facilities? How often? Are we under funded?  Where is current funds going?  Are there too many authorities dividing up a piece of the pie?

We need to know,
if its here, if its consumable, its safe!

BUYING RETAIL FOODS

  • READ ALL INGREDIENTS -
meat source should be one of the first two ingredients.
  • Stay away from products with artificial colors or flavors, corn (cheap filler), wheat gluten, meal, byproducts and other cheap fillers. Corn and wheat can grow deadly molds and fungus.
  • Dont give treats or food with chemicals BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin & propylene glycol, corn syrups, sugar; or menadione aka dimethylprimidinol sulfate
  • Treats with added Honey and Molasses (black Strap is GOOD) in small amounts is ok from time to time.
  • NATURAL or ORGANIC doesn't mean HUMAN GRADE or HEALTHY (Some contain 'organic sugar/ corn syrup' as an ingredient- NEVER use ANY product w/CORN SYRUP or SUGAR ingredients - even organic. Corn syrup feeds cancerous cells (it is only in emergencies if hypoglycemic.)
  • NO - MANUFACTURED IN CHINA!

RAW DIETS FOR DOGS AND CATS

"Raw diet closely approximates the diet cats would get in the wild; the diet to which their physiology is naturally attuned."

Cats: about.com - raw food diet

Precautions:

  • Buy from a trusted butcher instead of commercially-packed meat in supermarkets
  • Use the meat immediately, or freeze the meat mixture in individual serving-sized packets for future use. (Freezing also destroys many bacteria.)
  • Add priobiotics to the mix, for enhanced intestinal tract health (available in health food stores and online pet stores)
  • Use safe food handling techniques - clean and sterilize all equipment, including cutting boards and food dishes after each use.
  • Always take up and discard any uneaten food after thirty minutes
  • Consult with your own veterinarian before offering a raw meat diet to an immunocompromised pet.
